Rev. Dale Clancy
Having grown up in church, I knew who Jesus was and that He died on the cross for my sins. But I was unconverted. I was under the conviction of the Holy Spirit and sensed Him calling me to Christ; calling me to admit that I was a sinner, believe in Jesus – that He was God and desired a relationship with me – and to confess my sins to Him and confess that He is Lord. So, at the young age of 5, on my way to school in Orange County, CA, I did just that. My heart was full and at peace.
About 11 years later, on the roof of a pastor’s home in Pukalani, HI, God called me into the full-time ministry. He wanted me to serve him in His church as a Music Minister. I publicly surrendered to that ministry the next Sunday.
One evening, my college roommate, his girlfriend, and I were having a prayer time in the gazebo on campus. My roommate told me as the meeting was over that I would be a great pastor as I had a pastor’s heart and was very good at what I was doing. I thanked him and pondered it in my heart. Through this, God confirmed and clarified my calling. He wanted me to serve Him as an Associate Pastor and Music Minister.
In college, I was in traveling singing groups (men’s and mixed) that toured multiple states (TN, NC, GA, VA, MD, MS, LA, AL, FL, KY, DE), as well as regular and honor choirs. Throughout the years, I have been a sound engineer for churches and the traveling groups in which I participated. I have served churches in TN, MS and AR in various positions ranging from Youth, Education, Music, Associate Pastor, Administrator, and Senior Pastor.
My wife, Shella and I look forward to what God is doing and will do in the life of Coronado Baptist Church and are grateful that God has called us here. Therefore, let us “sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in our hearts to God” (Col. 3:16) for He has done, is doing, and will continue to do great things.
